“Relationship is the pre-condition for change. Every meeting has to get people connected first. Otherwise, the content falls on deaf ears."

Navigate Challenges Together.

“My team’s retreat was a transformative experience that helped us build resilience and learn the tools necessary to thrive despite big change."

Meet Jeffrey

My work is shifting emphasis from facilitating public conversations to fostering team-transforming vulnerability.

For the past two and a half years, I’ve lived in a liminal space—between life phases, filled with uncertainty and anxiety. But by surrounding myself with those who demand radical honesty, I’ve learned how vulnerability shifts the context from content to connection, which is the key to finding solutions that meet everyone’s needs; when people embrace vulnerability, conflicts dissolve and solutions emerge.

With 20+ years of experience facilitating conversations, I know how to get people talking about what matters. Now, I model and inspire vulnerability, helping teams address relational barriers that hinder great work. Using a unique mix of questions and interactive formats, I guide tough conversations into lasting breakthroughs.

I appreciate your interest in improving teamwork and community.

  • “My team’s retreat was a transformative experience. With gentle guidance, we discovered our team has the tools and capacity to navigate uncertainty.  Together we co-created our version of the Playbook for Liminality that’s full of tools that helped us build resilience, strengthen connections, and see uncertainty as an opportunities for growth. The combination of mindfulness practices, vulnerability exercises, and future-oriented activities created an environment of trust and empowerment. We continue to draw upon these experiences, using them to deepen our collaboration and adaptability in our work. • “Jeffrey Stec’s work is more important than ever in a society that seems to have lost its way in working together to solve shared problems. Every issue we face as a society is an opportunity to build community – Jeffrey’s techniques and suggestions provide the structure to do just that.”

    -  Steve Johns, AICP, Assistant Director, Planning and Development, Hamilton County, Ohio

  • Inclusive dialogue has never been more critical. Jeffrey Stec’s work helps generate both insight and action, unleash our curiosity, check our biases at the door, and engage people in productive conversation. Debate is healthy and important; doing it with empathy, compassion, and a willingness to grow and evolve is essential to progress. Thanks, Jeff, for helping us explore how to do that."

  • Leaders should hire neutral facilitators because their power will bias the dialog, and they might get defensive if attacked. Let someone else ask the tough questions and take the heat.
